ISLAMABAD – Yet another International Airlines set to start operations fromPakistan.
Pegasus Airlines, a low-cost carrier from Turkey, is all set to commenceits operations in Pakistan next month.
The airline will start its flight operations from the commercial capital ofPakistan, Karachi to Turkey’s tourism hub, Istanbul from its first flightstarting from March 28 this year.
According to reports, the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has issued apermit to Pegasus Airlines. The Turkish low-cost carrier will operate fourflights per week from Karachi to Istanbul and Istanbul to Karachi.
In recent years, Pakistan’s relationship with Turkey has improved on adiplomatic level which has had its impact on the economic front as well.
The new airline will not only facilitate businessmen and overseasPakistanis but it will also pave the way towards increasing trade andtourism between the two countries in the future.
During the recent visit of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, a numberof trade agreements were signed in the areas of defense, finance, trade,economy, customs, agriculture, banking, and finance, etc.
Pegasus Airlines will be the second Turkish carrier that has its presencein Pakistan after Turkish Airlines, which has been operating for severalyears. Last year, it carried out over 600 flights carrying more than 0.15million passengers that embarked and disembarked from various cities ofPakistan.
