US – Afghan Taliban peace talks enter sixth day

DOHA – The latest round of talks between the US officials and the Talibanrepresentatives to find ways to end the 17-year Afghan war is under way inQatar.

The Reuters news agency reported today quoting a Taliban source that theTaliban’s new political leader Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar is expected tojoin the talks soon.

The peace talks, initially slated for two days, are continuing on the sixthday today despite Taliban representatives staging a brief walkout yesterdayover differences with U.S. special peace envoy Zalmay Khalilzad.
