Minister for National Food Security and Research Sikander Hayat Bosan says the Government stands committed to the development of Agriculture sector on priority basis.
He was addressing the Kinno Expo, 2017 organized by the Government of Pakistan in collaboration with USAID in Islamabad today.
The Minister said agriculture is the backbone of Pakistan and contributes to forty percent of the GDP adding that kinno having more than thirty percent share in fruit production.
Sikander Hayat Bosan thanked the USAID in supporting the Government’s endeavors towards uplifting agriculture on modern lines.
He said the US-Pakistan partnership for developing agriculture market in Pakistan is a project aimed at enhancing the reach of Pakistan`s agriculture produce in international markets.
Speaking on the occsion, US ambassador David Hale said Pakistan has a distinguished history in agricultural progress and as partners in development the United States will continue extending support to Pakistani produce for having access to high pay international markets.
