The Pakistan Super League (PSL) Governing Council convened a meeting on Monday to deliberate on preparations for the upcoming season and set the date for the ninth season.

Chaired by Zaka Ashraf, the Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), the meeting took place at the National Cricket Academy and included representatives from all six PSL franchises. Among the significant decisions made during the meeting was the retention of the six-team format for the forthcoming season.

The PCB also officially announced that the tournament is scheduled to take place from February 8 to March 24, 2024. The governing council covered various topics, including the potential inclusion of a women's cricket league or exhibition matches within the PSL.

Additionally, the PCB is collaborating with the franchises to explore alternative venues in case of any unexpected developments.

During the meeting, the council paid a heartfelt and respectful tribute to the late Alamgir Tareen, the former owner of Multan Sultans, and acknowledged his significant contributions to Pakistan cricket.
