Indian Army pellets use against Kashmiris have made permanent blindness: Doctors

ISLAMABAD: (APP) Medical experts have said that pellets fired by Indian armed forces on protesters during the ongoing uprising in Kashmir has caused severe damage to vital areas for vision in eyes of at least 300 victims, making their chances of vision restoration almost nill.

According to Kashmir Media Service, till yesterday, 890 victims with pellet injuries in eyes had been admitted at SMSH Hospital alone since protests broke out following the extra- judicial murder of freedom fighter  Burhan Muzaffar Wani.

Atleast 42 victims had been hit in both eyes, as per hospital records.

India's state terrorism in occupied Kashmir continue to persist on 78th day on Sunday and curfew has been reimposed in district Kishtwar to prevent public protests.

Three people including one Hurriyet leader were arrested a day before after which the situation is exceptionally tense.

Atleast 30 Kashmiris accused of treason have been arrested in the valley.

Meanwhile, the death toll in the violence-hit valley has reached 115 with more than 11,000 injured.
