KABUL: Afghan Taliban in their latest offensive have attacked the military outpost on Pakistan Afghanistan border killing eight Afghan Army soldiers.
At least eight Afghan border police were killed when militants attacked an outpost in the Torkham border area of Afghanistan's eastern Nangarhar province, Afghan media quoting officials reported on Tuesday.
“The outpost was overrun for a short period of time and Taliban seized all weapons and equipment left,” Nangarhar provincial council member Ahmad Ali said.
Nangarhar provincial governor spokesman Attaullah Khugyani confirmed on Tuesday's attack but did not elaborate on the number of casualties. “Afghan forces have retaken control of the outpost,” Khugyani said.
