LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader and member of the Punjab Assembly Sumera Komal, on Thursday, submitted a resolution in the provincial assembly, seeking former Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Saqib Nisar’s name on the exit control list (ECL) following the recent leaked audio saga.
An alleged leaked audio clip of Nisar’s talk with an unidentified man surfaced recently, in which he purportedly passed instructions to sentence the former prime minister, along with his daughter, Maryam Nawaz.
Nisar has already termed the audio clip as “fabricated,” however, Maryam thinks that the former CJP was involved in an “ugly conspiracy” against her father.
Thursday’s PML-N resolution submitted in the PA claimed that after the audio leak scandal, the party feared that Nisar could go abroad.
“Former chief justice admits in his audio leak that Mian Nawaz Sharif and his daughter Maryam Nawaz should be kept in jail before the elections,” said the PML-N leader.
The resolution added that the PML-N supremo’s removal from the prime minister’s office was part of a “plan”.
Komal claimed that four testimonies, in favour of Nawaz, had come from inside the court and demanded that the former CJP’s name be placed on the ECL.
“The Supreme Court should also take cognizance of this whole matter,” said the Nawaz-league leader demanded in her resolution.
