Oslo: Pakistan's strong protest bears fruit, Norway government makes big announcement over desecration of Holy Quran.After strong protest from Pakistan and a warning by Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan, Norway has banned desecration of the Holy Quran, GNN reported.
Authorities said in Norway everyone can avail freedom of speech but within the limits.
Foreign news agency reported that Norway police have been asked to bar activities hurting religious sentiments of people.
On the other hand, Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan has made it overtly clear that provocative and extremist actions against Islam will not be tolerated.
“Actions against Islam are not acceptable at any cost. Muslim countries need to immediately stand up against the menace of Islamophobia. We won’t allow anyone to hurt sentiments of billions of Muslims”, the premier was quoted as saying.
The premier further instructed participants to effectively tackle anti-Islam propaganda campaign.
Separately, Pakistan summoned envoy of the Norway and lodged strong protest on Quran-burning incident.
