ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Policy Makers have again decided to take Iran into confidence over the issue of the Saudi Military Alliance and Pakistan's participation in the Alliance.

Pakistan intends to take Iran into confidence regarding its decision to join a Saudi-led military alliance being headed by former army chief General (retd.) Raheel Sharif.

According to a reliable source, Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa is likely to make a visit to Tehran in the next few days to discuss the issue with the Iranian leadership.

General Bajwa will try to address Iran’s concerns regarding Pakistan’s participation in the military alliance.

Sources add that the army chief will also renew Pakistan’s offer to act as a mediator between Iran and Saudi Arabia to defuse escalating tensions between the two Islamic regional powers.
