PESHAWAR: Monday, June 26, is the first day of Eid al Fitr as the crescent of Shawwal has been sighted in Pakistan, officials said.

“Shawwal’s crescent moon has been sighted in Lahore, which means Eid starts on Monday,” according to zonal moon sighting committee.

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) had already predicted that Eid-ul-Fitr was most likely to fall on June 26.
