ISLAMABAD - Former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif will be given B Class better facilities in the Kot Lakhpat jail Lahore.
As per media report, he is being shifted from Adiala to Kot Lakhpat jail on Tuesday and will be given B-class facilities in jail.
It has been reported that the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supremo will be shifted to a room next to his brother and former Punjab chief minister Shehbaz Sharif in the security ward.
According to a Punjab home department press release, he will be provided with a mattress, newspapers, basic furniture such as table and chair. He will also be permitted to bring utensils from his home.
He can also request food be brought from home. He is to get these facilities under the Rule no 242 of the Pakistan prison rules 1978.
An accountability court on Monday sentenced former prime minister Nawaz Sharif to seven years in jail in the Al-Azizia Steel Mills corruption reference and ordered that his Hill Metal Establishment properties be seized.
The former premier, however, was acquitted in the Flagship Investments reference.
