Ban on protests, rallies in Red Zone

KARACHI: (APP) The Sindh Home Department has imposed ban on protests, demonstrations, rallies and assembly of more than five persons at the specific places of Karachi division which are declared as Red Zone for a period of 60 days with immediate effect.

The ban is imposed under Section 144 (6) Cr. PC at the places outside important government buildings include Sindh Governors House, Chief Minister Secretariat, Sindh Assembly Building, Sindh Secretariat, and Bilawal House, said a statement on Wednesday.

In district East the areas include Hoshang Chowk to Fowara Chowk-Deen Muhammad Wafai Road- Sidco Centre-Sabir Baig Shaheed Road Corner Coast Guard Mess-Sir Ghulam Hussain Hidayatullah Road-PSO Petrol Pump fall under the ban.

In district North the ban is imposed from PSO Petrol Pump- Sharah-e-Liaquat to Fresco Chowk.

In district West from Fresco Chowk - Muhammad Bin Qasim Road – DJ Chowrangi - Dr.Ziauddin Ahmed Road Shaheen to Complex-Khajoor Chowk - PIDC Chowk -16-D Bungalow.

In district South from 16-D Bugalow to Hoshang Chowk via clear Mound Road - Bilawal House and Ali Baba Chowrangi to Beach view Park.

In district East, from Beach View Round about block 4 to corner Bagh-e-Rustum via ATC Court Road.

In district North from Corner Bagh-e-rustum to Bilawal Chowrangi via Shah Ghazi Road.

In district West from Bilawal Chowrangi to Ali Baba Chowrangi via Khayaban-e-Saadi.

The SHOs of Police Stations concerned are authorized to register the complaints under Section 188 PPC in writing for the violation of Section 144 Cr. P.C against the violators.
