Pakistani FM Qureshi makes new investment offers to American companies

ISLAMABAD: Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi on Thursday said Pakistanwas offering several important facilities to foreign investors, includinge-visa.

“American companies can benefit from these facilities and earn profit byinvesting in different fields,” Shah Mahmood Qureshi said talking to USDemocrat leader Tahir Javed in Islamabad.

He said Pakistan gave special importance to its relations with the UnitedStates, Radio Pakistan reported.

The foreign minister said the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government hadfocused on economic priorities. Tahir Javed assured to make all-out effortsto expand bilateral economic cooperation.

The two sides also discussed matters pertaining to Pakistanis living in theUnited States.

On November 23, Special Assistant to Prime Minister on PoliticalCommunication Dr Shahbaz Gill had threatened that a protest would be stagedoutside the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP)’s office if it did notimplement the law related to overseas Pakistanis in 90 days.

“Prime Minister Imran Khan fulfilled his promise and gave overseasPakistanis the right to vote. So, the ECP should also grant overseasPakistanis the right to vote within 90 days,” Shahbaz Gill had said whileaddressing media in Islamabad.

He had said they would stage a protest and go on a hunger strike, but wouldnot withdraw from the right to vote. He had asked the election commissionto not to be influenced by any propaganda.
