ISLAMABAD – Prime Minister Imran Khan has said that the two politicalparties, who are in opposition, committed money laundering on a large scale.
He expressed these views during a meeting with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insafleader Babar Awan in Islamabad on Monday, a private TV channel reported.Awan apprised the PM regarding the foreign funding case and itsconstitutional and legal framework.
The prime minister said that the economy of the country is stabilizing butsome elements are against its prosperity.
He maintained that the government will foil all conspiracies being hatchedagainst Pakistan.
During the meeting, Babar Awan informed the prime minister that the PTI hassubmitted all record related to the funding case in the Election Commission.
He said that the audit of the PTI accounts was also conducted from time totime.
He pointed out that the PML-N’s claim of PTI’s money laundering isunworthy. The PTI leader maintained that all the legal requirements of thecase had been met and the record of transactions had been submitted in theEC.
Earlier, PM’s aide on Information Firdous Ashiq Awan said that oppositionparties were highlighting the foreign funding case against the PakistanTehreek-e-Insaf in order to mislead the masses.
She said the “unemployed opposition” was waging propaganda to get theairtime. Awan said all facts relating to the case were presented before thecore committee on Sunday.
“We have submitted answers to every question to the election commission,”she said.
She said the PTI was clean and they had no issues.
