KARACHI – Anti encroachment drive have reached Karachi food streets.
* Burns Road – *an oldest and most popular street recognized for its*‘desi’* eateries witnessed massive demolitions on Saturday as theanti-encroachment operation entered into the Karachi’s crowded locality.
According to details, the Karachi Metropolitan Coorporation (KMC) razednumerous shops, cafes and restaurants which were famous for their signaturetaste in traditional cuisines.

A day earlier, makeshift food street and other encroachment were also razedon several locations including near Civic Centre and Expo Centre.
This humdinger of the anti-encroachment operation has have excellent effectall over the megalopolis as it has reduced traffic congestion.
The KMC on November 17 submitted a report to the commissioner Karachi,apprising about implementation on the directives of the Supreme Courtregarding anti-encroachment operation in the city.
According to the report, as many as 2500 shops were razed at Empress Marketand its adjoining Daudpota Road during the anti-encroachment drive.Similarly 480 illegal shops were demolished in the city’s Sohrab Goth Area.While 150 shops at Sarmad Shaheed Road were also bulldozed.
