Pakistan gets yet another good news on economic front

ISLAMABAD – Export of food commodities from the country during firstquarter of current financial year increased by 13.98 percent.

According to data released by Pakistan Bureau of Statistics, different foodcommodities worth 984.757 million dollars were exported during the saidperiod as compared to the exports of 864.005 million dollars during thecorresponding period of last year.

Meanwhile, the imports of the food commodities into the country decreasedby 24.78 percent as it came down from 1.458 billion dollars of firstquarter of last year to 1.096 billion dollars in same period of currentfinancial year.

On the other hand, tea imports in the country during first three months ofcurrent financial year reduced by 31.05 percent as compared to imports ofthe corresponding period of last year.

According to data by Pakistan Bureau of Statistics, during the period fromJuly-September, 2019 tea imports into the country decreased by 46.039million dollars as against the import of the same period of last year.
