On Monday, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) took action to preventKhawar Maneka, the former spouse of Bushra Bibi, from boarding a flightbound for Dubai.Mr. Maneka has found himself embroiled in a ‘corruption’case initiated by the Punjab Anti-Corruption Establishment, which has ledto his recent travel restrictions.
The FIA explained that Khawar Maneka had intended to travel to Dubai on aninternational airline when they halted his departure due to his inclusionin the Exit Control List (ECL). They further stated their intent totransfer him to the anti-corruption team upon arrival at Lahore Airport,underscoring the severity of the allegations against him.
Khawar Maneka holds a senior position within the Customs department andhails from Pakpattan. He is notably known for his spiritual devotion to the13th-century mystic Baba Farid Ganj Shakkar.
In addition to his own pursuits, it’s worth noting that his father, GhulamMuhammad Maneka, had a prominent political career, having also served as afederal minister during Benazir Bhutto’s time as Prime Minister. GhulamMuhammad Maneka sadly passed away in 2011.
