ISLAMABAD – Minister for Foreign Affairs Shah Mahmood Qureshi met USPresident Donald Trump in New York on Tuesday and discussed mattersrelating to bilateral relations between Pakistan and the United States.
Foreign Minister Qureshi told PTV that President Trump, during the meetingheld on the sidelines of 73rd session of the UN General Assembly, extendedgood wishes for Prime Minister Imran Khan.
He said he apprised the US President of the historic Pak-US relations whichneeded to be re-phrased. President Trump, Qureshi said, agreed with hisview and said the United States intended to re-build the relations.
The foreign minister said during the meeting he found the attitude ofPresident Trump positive.Qureshi said on this occasion he also met US Secretary of State Mike Pompeoand his wife. A special meeting with Secretary Pompeo was scheduled forOctober 2, he added.
