Loan programme for youth: Punjab government takes new initiative

ISLAMABAD: Punjab Minister for Industries and Trade Mian Aslam IqbalTuesday said the government of Punjab would start a training programmeunder one umbrella to promote technical education for youth under the softloan programme.-

Talking to APP, Punjab Minister for Industries and Trade Mian Aslam Iqbalsaid that under the soft loan programme, the youth will be provided loansup to Rs 3 million. The repayment of the loan will be started after oneyear of its issuance, he added.

The 100-day programme and 1 million employment opportunities will begenerated every year, he added.

Reforms are being introduced in the government departments to enhance theircapabilities. Using delaying tactics in the solution of peoples’ problemwill not be tolerated, responsible will be punished, he said.

Promotion of technical education is the need of the hour and all-outefforts will be made to promote technical education, he added.

The Punjab government has prepared a soft loan programme for youth thatwill be formally announced in the provincial budget next month, he added.
