Afghanistan has raised the issue of Pakistan not allowing it to export goods to India through Pakistani territory. According to sources, Pakistan informed Afghanistan of its new policy following the recent tensions with India, under which third-country trade with India via Pakistan has been prohibited.
According to government sources, a delegation led by Afghanistan’s Deputy Minister for Industry and Commerce raised the matter during its visit to Pakistan from July 21 to 23, 2025. The issue was discussed in a meeting with a Pakistani delegation headed by the Secretary of Commerce.
Sources revealed that the Afghan delegation pointed out that under the Afghanistan-Pakistan Transit Trade Agreement (APTTA) 2010, Afghanistan was previously allowed to export goods to India through the Wagah border. However, since May 2025, Pakistan has been denying permission for such exports via Wagah.
