CTD Thwarts Major Terror Attack: Arrests Key Terrorist

Rawalpindi: A major disaster has been averted in Rawalpindi due to timely action by the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) and other intelligence agencies. A highly dangerous terrorist affiliated with the Khawarij militant network, Musa, has been arrested along with weapons and explosive materials.

According to a CTD spokesperson, the arrest was made through an intelligence-based operation. The terrorist had already conducted reconnaissance of sensitive locations in Rawalpindi with the intent to carry out attacks.

The CTD stated that the arrested terrorist had received terrorist training multiple times in Afghanistan and was in contact with a key commander of the Khawarij network. A large cache of explosive materials, hand grenades, safety fuse wire, detonators, remote buttons, prima cards, and bullets was recovered from his possession.

The spokesperson added that a case has been registered against the terrorist, and further investigation is underway. A few days prior, he had recorded videos of sensitive sites and circulated them on social media.
