Pakistan government moves UNSC Sanction committee against Indian national terrorists

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan government approaches United Nations Security CouncilSanction committee against Indian national terrorists.

Pakistan on Wednesday urged the Sanctions Committee of the United NationsSecurity Council to list three Indian nationals objectively andtransparently as terrorists after having been designated by Pakistan fortheir involvement in financing, sponsoring and organizing terrorism in thecountry.

In a statement, Foreign Office Spokesperson said that Pakistan had proposedthe designation of four Indian nationals in 2019 under the United Nations1267 San-ctions List, namely Venum-adhav Dongara, Ajoy Mistry, GobindaPatnaik, and Angara Appaji.“These individuals were financing, sponsoring and organizing terrorisminside Pakistan by providing financial, technical and material support toterrorist groups including TTP, Jamaat-ul-Ahrar and others. We aredisappointed that Pakistan’s proposal to designate Venumadhav Dongara as aterrorist has been objected to,” the spokesperson remarked. However, she hoped that the listing requests of other three Indiannationals will be given due consideration by the UNSC 1267 Sanc-tionsCommittee in an obj-ective and transparent manner. She said that taking advantage of the prolonged conflict in Pakistan’sneighbourhood, India had fomented terrorism inside Pakistan by providingtraining, financial and material support to terrorist groups to killinnocent people in Pakistan.“These Indian nationals are now residing in India with impunity whichvindicates Pakistan’s position that India is a state-sponsor of terrorism,”the spokesperson added.
