Complete shutdown in Occupied Kashmir against Indian Army

SRINAGAR – In occupied Kashmir, Valley-wide shutdown was observed againstthe nonstop killing of civilians by the Indian forces in the territory.

Call for strike was given by Joint Resistance Leadership comprising SyedAli Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik.

All shops, business establishments and educational institutions were closedwhile traffic was off the road in Srinagar and other districts of theValley.

Heavy contingents of police and paramilitary forces were deployed instrength to prevent anti-India protests.

Train services between Baramulla and Banihal were suspended and internetservices were shut in South Kashmir areas.

The authorities arrested Muhammad Yasin Malik and put Mirwaiz Umar Farooqand other Hurriyat leaders under house detention. An 11th class student wasinjured after Indian troops opened fire on protesters in Nadihal area ofRafiabad.

In a statement in Srinagar, All Parties Hurriyat Conference Chairman, SyedAli Gilani strongly criticized Indian rulers for continuing bloodshed inthe territory.

He said Indian fascist rulers and army generals are looking for excuses tocreate a 1990-like situation in Kashmir to justify the use of lethalweapons against unarmed innocent youth.

In a statement in Srinagar, Senior APHC leader and Chairman ofTehreek-e-Hurriyat Jammu Kashmir, Mohammad Ashraf Sehrai said Indian forcesare not only carrying the genocide of Kashmiri people but are also damagingtheir property. Senior APHC leader, Shabbir Ahmad Shah in a statement fromDelhi’s Tihar jail said people of disputed territory are being deprived oftheir right to self-determination at gunpoint.
