*ISLAMABAD – The federal government has announced a decrease in the pricesof 78 medicines.*

According to a notification issued by the government, 75 percent increasein the prices of medicines under the hardship cases has been withdrawn.

Moreover, nine percent increase in 50-75 percent medicines in the hardshipcases.

The notification also announced withdrawal of the increase in the prices ofblood pressure, heart, epilepsy, skin and emergency medicines.

Pharmaceutical companies had increased the prices of medicines, citingtheir exorbitant expenditures. Prime Minister Imran Khan had taken noticeof the increase in prices of medicines.
