* In the view of recent wave of violence in Afghanistan and the collapse ofintra-Afghan dialogue, Prime Minister Imran Khan asserted “Pakistan willnot be party to any internal conflict in Afghanistan anymore.”*
A statement was issued by the Prime Minister office on Thursday stated,“Pakistan is highly dismayed by the surge of violence in Afghanistan fromall sides. The so called offensives are condemnable and will undermine thepeace process. It is not right to seek an edge in dialogue throughcoercion.”
Calling all parties to recognize the importance of the moment and seize it,the statement further read “Pakistan has committed all diplomatic andsecurity capital to success of [the] peace process. Pakistan will not beparty to any internal conflict in Afghanistan anymore.”
“[The] Afghanistan conflict has brought great suffering for bothAfghanistan and Pakistan over [the] last 40 years.
Now, after a long wait, the Afghanistan Peace Process presents a historicopportunity for peace in the region and Pakistan is fully supporting theprocess, including the next logical step of Intra-Afghan Dialogue whereinAfghans will themselves decide upon the future of their country,” PrimeMinister Khan said in the statement.
