Paris: The Financial Action Task Force (FATF) is expected to make a finaldecision today, whether to retain Pakistan on grey list as it wraps up itsfour-day plenary meeting which began on Monday.
The FATF president will give a press briefing on the outcomes of the FATFplenary at 9:30 pm (16:30 GMT) today.
The four-day meeting of the global anti-money laundering body, began onFebruary 22 and today is its last day.
The meeting will review Pakistan’s measures against money laundering anddecide whether it has done enough to exit grey-list.
Pakistan’s evaluation at the plenary would be based on 27-point action plan.
Pakistan sent its report to FATF for consideration according to whichPakistan has shown improvement in compliance on anti-money laundering andcombating financing terror (AML/CFT) systems.
Pakistan has been shown improving compliance on two out of 40recommendations of the FATF on effectiveness of AML/CFT systems.
Ahead of the plenary the FATF had updated the overall performance of allcountries.
It is pertinent to mention here that Pakistan is under FATF grey list sinceJune 2018.
