According to the reports, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has beguninvestigations into Umar Akmal’s alleged involvement in spot-fixing aftersuspending him on the eve of the Pakistan Super League (PSL).

The 29-year-old is suspected of having agreed to fix three differentmoments in his side’s opening game against Islamabad United. Umar’s phones,laptop and ipads have been sent to forensics, with a charge sheet expectedto be prepared once further investigations are finished.

According to the sources, Umar Akmal admitted that he had been in contactwith a person named Faisal and all arrangements regarding match-fixing.

The sources revealed that he confessed this statement during theinvestigation with the Anti-Corruption Unit.
