Pakistan counters India s diplomatic onslaught post Pulwama attack

ISLAMABAD – Pakistan wants peace and stability in the region, ForeignMinister Shah Mahmood Qureshi told his Chinese and German counterparts inseparate telephonic contacts on Monday.

Apprising the Chinese foreign minister of the regional security situation,Qureshi informed Wang Yi about efforts taken by Pakistan to reducePak-India tensions. Qureshi said that Pakistan wants to resolve all theissues through dialogue.

Minister Wang Yi acknowledged Pakistan’s losses to the war on terror whilelauding Islamabad’s role for fighting peace and establishing regional peace.

Earlier, Foreign Minister Qureshi telephoned German Foreign Minister HeikoMaas and discussed the evolving regional situation.

The foreign minister briefed his German counterpart on the evolvingsituation after the Pulwama incident and stressed that despite baselessallegations and aggressive rhetoric emanating from India, Pakistan hasoffered cooperation in investigating the incident and asked India to shareany actionable evidence in this regard.

He said Pakistan desires a peaceful neighbourhood and remains committed topeace and stability in the region.

The German minister appreciated Pakistan’s overtures and stressed upon theneed to preserve peace and stability in the region.
