RIYADH – Saudi scientists have been able to transform the infrared energyemitted from the earth into electricity.

Researchers of the King Abdullah University of Science and Technology useda mechanical tunnel methodology to extract electricity from the infraredradiation which earth receives in large amount from the sun.

They estimated that millions of gigawatts of energy per second can beextracted from the infrared radiation.
