Pakistani spinner Yasir Shah all set to make historic milestone

Pakistan’s Test spinner, Yasir Shah, has admitted that his performanceshave not been up to the mark recently. He said that he has been trainingand focusing on getting back into form to pick up wickets and win matchesfor his country.——————————

Yasir is currently the sixth-highest wicket-taker in Tests for Pakistan. Hehas picked up 227 wickets at an average of 30.85 in 43 Test matches. He haspicked up 16 five-wicket hauls, and 3 ten-wicket hauls in his career.However, his form has drastically dropped down. He has not picked up asingle five-wicket haul since the start of 2019, and his average duringthis period is 52.12.

Yasir believes that the playing conditions have not suited him, and hisrole has significantly changed according to the opposition and the playingconditions. Yasir said that he is training hard and keeping himself fit toplay as long as he can for Pakistan and aims to cross the 300 wicketsmilestone as soon as possible.——————————

If Yasir can achieve the milestone, he will be the fourth Pakistani bowlerto do so. Wasim Akram, Waqar Younis, and Imran Khan are the other three tocross the mark. Leg-spinner, Danish Kaneria, is next on the list with 261wickets to his name.

Yasir will be crucial for Pakistan in the upcoming Test series againstSouth Africa and will be raring to go with the pitch conditions suitinghim. Yasir is likely to be a part of the playing XI in the first Test matchagainst South Africa scheduled to begin on Tuesday 26 January at NationalStadium Karachi.
