Pakistan Head Coach Misbahul Haq believes that the upcoming Test and T20Iseries against South Africa will not have an impact on his future.

While speaking during a virtual press conference ahead of first Test inKarachi, Misbah said that his sole focus on ensuring that the team doeswell in their next assignment.

“I don’t think that [future as head coach] has anything to do with theSouth Africa series. I have always played cricket under pressure and youhave to perform. You can never have any security or assurances,” saidMisbah.

He also admitted that the team’s performance has not been satisfactory inthe recent past.

“I’m not satisfied with the team’s performance and want to improve on that,obviously. Our entire focus is on the upcoming series and so we are onconcentrating on other [speculations about coaching staff] thing,” he said.

It must be noted that the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Cricket Committeewill review the team’s performance after South Africa’s tour of Pakistanconcludes. Sources believe that the upcoming series is the last chance forMisbah-led coaching staff to put the team on the right track.
