Pakistan Navy further enhances strategic ties with middle eastern state Navy

ISLAMABAD – Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Zafar Mahmood Abbasi on Fridaymet with CommanderRoyal Jordanian Naval Force, Brig Gen Ibrahim Salman Al Naimat andCommander Royal Jordanian Air Force, Major General Yousef A Al-Hnaity inseparate meetings.The Navel chief on official visit to Jordan, said a press release receivedhere.On his arrival at Royal Jordanian Naval Force Headquarters at Aqaba, theAdmiral was received by Commander Royal Jordanian Naval Force, Brig GenIbrahim Salman Al Naimat.A ceremonial Guard of Honour was also presented to the Naval Chief on theoccasion.During the meeting, Admiral Zafar Mahmood Abbasi dilated upon matters ofmutual interestand naval collaboration. The Admiral emphasized upon Pakistan Navy’sfocused efforts towards fight against terrorism; Counter Piracy Operationsand Regional Maritime Security Patrol (RMSP) initiative.

The Naval Chief also highlighted the forthcoming Multinational MaritimeExercise AMAN-19 being hosted by Pakistan Navy in February 2019 at Karachi.Admiral Zafar Mahmood Abbasi further discussed avenues to enhance bilateralcooperation between both the navies in field of training, provision oftechnical manpower and expertise.Commander Royal Jordanian Naval Force, Brig Gen Ibrahim Salman Al Naimatacknowledged the significance of close and strong bilateral navalassociation in diverse realmsbetween Pakistan Navy and Royal Jordanian Navy.

Earlier, the Naval Chief also called on Commander Royal Jordanian AirForce, Major General Yousef A Al-Hnaity. Upon arrival at Royal JordanianAir Force Headquarters, a ceremonial Guard of Honour was presented to theNaval Chief.During the meeting, Admiral Zafar Mahmood Abbasi dilated upon matters ofmutualinterest and defence ties. Commander Royal Jordanian Air Force, MajorGeneral Yousef A Al-Hnaity acknowledged brotherly relations betweenPakistan and Jordan,strong defence foundations and lauded Pakistan Navy’s efforts in promotingpeace and security in the maritime domain.

It is expected that recent visit of the Naval Chief will further enhanceand expand bilateral relations between the two countries and Defencecollaboration between the Armed Forces.
