*ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Thursday granted anapplication filed by former prime minister Nawaz Sharif seeking permissionto submit additional documents in Al-Azizia reference.*
A bench of the high court conducted hearing on the application as the PML-Nsupremo’s lawyer, Munawar Dogal, appeared before it.
The counsel stated that he wanted to submit some documents in the appealagainst his client’s conviction in the Al-Azizia case and therefore, he begranted permission for the purpose.
Earlier, on Jan 21, the high court issued a notice to Sharif in theAl-Azizia reference on the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) appeal.
A division bench comprising Justice Amir Farooq and Justice Mohsin AkhtarKayani heard the PML-N supreme leader’s appeal and a petition seekingsuspension of his punishment and NAB appeal against the Al-Azizia andFlagship reference.
The anti-graft watchdog requested the court to extend the jail term awardedto Sharif in the Al-Azizia case and overturn his acquittal in the FlagshipInvestment Reference.
