ISLAMABAD – Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry has said the country’smedia has changed altogether due to advancement in technology and it isneed of the hour to run it under one administrative umbrella.
He said the federal cabinet has approved establishment of Pakistan MediaRegulatory Authority, for which consultation would be held with allstakeholders to make it acceptable for everyone.
Fawad Chaudhry said the new media regulatory authority would not be underthe government’s control and most of its members would be from journalistorganizations to make it more balanced and effective.

Replying to a question, the Minister said the government has reached anagreement with Pakistan Broadcasters Association and has successfullyresolved the matter of advertisement.
