Supreme Court Justice Sardar Tariq Masood recused himself from hearing the chamber appeals pertaining to the cipher matter.
The Supreme Court heard the chamber appeals for cipher investigation involving an alleged international plot to topple the Imran Khan government.
As the hearing started, Justice Masood recused himself from hearing the case sending the appeals back to Chief Justice of Pakistan Umar Ata Bandial. He requested the CJP to appoint another judge who could hear these appeals.
Petitions seeking a probe into the cipher matter were filed in the Supreme Court but the registrar office returned these applications after raising objections to them.
Advocate Zulfiqar Bhatta and others filed chamber appeals against the registrar’s objections.
