ISLAMABAD - Human Rights Watch gives a strong snub to Indian government over the controversial amendment Act 2019.
Human Rights Watch has said that Indian authorities should cease using unnecessary lethal force against demonstrators protesting a law that discriminates against Muslims.
In a statement, South Asia Director at Human Rights Meenakshi Ganguly said many people have been killed and several injured during protest against the Citizenship Amendment Bill.
She said the Indian government should address the legitimate concerns over the citizenship law and national register of citizens that will be used to target marginalized groups.
