WASHINGTON - The United States has imposed additional tariff increase of five percent on Chinese imports.
In a tweet, the US President Donald Trump said he has ordered American companies to look for alternatives to China.
Earlier, China unveiled retaliatory tariffs against US goods of worth about seventy five billion dollars.
In a statement, Chinese Commerce Ministry said it will impose additional tariffs of five or ten percent on total products originating from the United States.
The tariff hikes will be implemented in two batches and take effect from 1st of September and on 15th of December respectively.
