PSL – 6: Only two cities likely to host all PSL matches due Coronavirus

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is looking to host the PSL 6 at two venues.The PCB has decided to host the tournament in Karachi and Lahore because ofthe dire situation of COVID-19 in the country.——————————

Rawalpindi and Multan were set to host PSL matches this time around aswell, but PCB has decided against it to manage the tournament smoothly. Ithas been decided that all the matches will be played behind closed doors,keeping in view the situation of the pandemic.

Few of the franchises were unhappy with the scheduling of the previousedition of PSL. Quetta Gladiators were reportedly unhappy with theirschedule because it involved a lot of traveling. The matches being playedin two cities will help the PCB manage the tournament better, and the teamswill be required to travel less.——————————

The tournament has been divided into two phases. In the first phase, whichwill run from February 20 to March 7, all the matches will be played at theNational Stadium Karachi. The teams will then move to Lahore to play theremaining matches, including the final.

The opening match of the sixth edition of PSL will be played betweendefending champions, Karachi Kings, and former champions, QuettaGladiators, on Saturday, February 20, 2021, at National Stadium Karachi.

The final of PSL 6 will be played on Sunday, March 21, 2021, at GaddafiStadium Lahore. All the dates are tentative and will be finalized keepingin view the COVID-19 situation in the country.
