Islamabad: Former President Asif Ali Zardari held a telephonic conversationwith Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F) chief and head of Pakistan DemocraticMovement (PDM) Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman on Thursday.
According to details, Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) co-chairman invited theJUI-F chief to Garhi Khuda Bakhsh rally scheduled on the occasion of FormerPrime Minister Benazir Bhutto’s death anniversary.
Both leaders also deliberated upon country’s political situation anddiscussed future strategy related to anti-government campaign of PDM.
This is the second day in a row that PPP c-chairperson has contacted JUI-FChief through telephone.
Earlier yesterday, Asif Zardari took a firm stand over the matter ofresignations and told both Maulana Fazl ur Rehman and former premier NawazSharif that that PPP would contest both senate and by-elections.
“We will raise the matter in PDM’s upcoming meeting,” Fazl had replied toZardari.
