Key meeting of Council of Common Interests take important decisions

ISLAMABAD – Council of Common Interests has decided to install telemetrysystem across the country to ensure fair distribution of water in thecountry.

The meeting of CCI held in Islamabad on Monday with Prime Minister ImranKhan in the chair.

Later, briefing media men in Islamabad, Special Assistant to Prime Ministeron Information and Broadcasting Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan said that it has alsobeen decided that PC-1 of the this system will be prepared after reviewwithin four weeks.

She said the meeting further reviewed the net-hydel in detail and decidedto constitute a high level committee comprising technical experts toprepare recommendations in this regard within one month.

The SAPM said that energy projects are right of every province and allprovinces will take NEPRA into confidence before approval of any energyproject.

She said the meeting also approved the policy regarding exploration andproduction of oil.

She said that it has also been decided to take measures to improve thequality of production of local industries.

Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan said the meeting was informed about privatizationplan of Haveli Bahadur Shah and Balloki power projects.

The meeting asked the provincial governments to adopt collective strategyfor equal curriculum and education system in the country.
