Saudi General Visits GHQ to Bolster Defence Ties

ISLAMABAD: Saudi Arabia’s Chief of General Staff Lieutenant General Fayyadhbin Hameed Al-Ruwaili visited General Headquarters in Rawalpindi on Mondayand held detailed discussions with Chief of Army Staff Field MarshalGeneral Syed Asim Munir on deepening bilateral defence cooperation.

The meeting focused on strengthening the historic strategic militarypartnership between the two countries, with both leaders reiterating theircommitment to enhance collaboration in defence production, security, andcounter-terrorism efforts.

General Asim Munir and General Fayyadh emphasised the importance ofexpanding institutional linkages built on mutual trust and common strategicinterests, while exploring new avenues for joint training programmes anddefence technology sharing.

Both sides underscored the need for greater coordination on regionalsecurity challenges and reaffirmed their resolve to intensifycounter-terrorism cooperation through intelligence exchange and jointexercises.

General Fayyadh lauded Pakistan’s continued support to the Saudi ArmedForces and praised the high professional standards of the Pakistan Army inmaintaining regional stability.

He described Pakistan as a trusted and reliable strategic partner,expressing Saudi Arabia’s firm commitment to further elevate defence andsecurity ties in the coming years.

The visit reflects the deepening brotherly relations between Pakistan andSaudi Arabia, underpinned by decades of close military collaboration andshared vision for peace and security in the region.
