LAHORE: National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Chairperson Justice (retd)Javed Iqbal on Wednesday said that his department is not an extension ofany political party or institution.
In his visit to the anti-graft body’s Lahore office, NAB chief was briefedover the developments on TT reference, Aashiyana Iqbal reference, RamzanSugar Mill reference, Eden Housing Scandal, Pak-Arab Housing Society caseand Paragon Society case.
The NAB chief directed the provincial team to nominate less witnesses inview of ensuring timely logical conclusions of the trials.
The department’s city chief informed that as many as Rs88 billion have beenrecovered by the department within the last four years – Rs77 billion camethrough indirect recovery while the rest completed through direct recovery.
The NAB chief, speaking on the occasion, expressed his confidence over theperformance and said that the cases present on trial have been prepared onthe basis of strong evidence.
