Indian intelligence agency officer house raided over suspicion of double cross

Highly placed sources confirmed to India Today that searches were carriedout at the residence of a former NIA officer, who had recently completed adecade-long deputation to the NIA and had returned to his cadre.

A senior official in Himachal Pradesh said, “The officer was on 60-dayleave and had not joined back into the state police.”

Meanwhile, sources in the anti-terror probe agency said, “Facts haveemerged which are to be verified”.

In the searches, some electronic devices belonging to the former officialshave also been said to be seized.

The decorated IPS officer was said to be part of the probe team when raidswere carried out in October last at several locations in the Kashmir valleyon premises owned by various NGOs that included Mr Parvez’s residence andoffice.

An officer said, “Certain statements have come to light, and in suchmatters, an internal probe is carried out to ascertain whether those aretrue or not.”
