Pakistani Skipper Babar Azam shamelessly defends his batting and captaincy skills in World Cup

Chennai: National cricket team captain Babar Azam said that the team feltdisappointed after the loss to Afghanistan, but in cricket, anything canhappen.

Speaking at a press conference after the defeat to Afghanistan in Chennai,Babar Azam mentioned that our bowling and fielding weren’t up to the mark,and spinners didn’t perform well in the middle overs.

He congratulated Afghanistan on their victory, saying that Pakistancouldn’t perform well in fielding, and they will strive to win all theupcoming matches.

The captain of the national cricket team stated that he doesn’t feel theburden of captaincy; when he is batting, he focuses on his batting, andwhen it’s his turn to captain, he takes on that role.

Babar Azam further stated that our performance in this World Cup hasn’tbeen good, and our performance in all three departments of the game hasbeen poor. He credited the Afghan team for their excellent play.
