ISLAMABAD – The federal government has decided to form a Turkish-stylespecial force to deal with protesters.
Approval has been given in principle to form a force equipped with moderntechnology and equipment. Protesters will be able to be controlled withoutheavy casualties. An amount of Rs1.80 billion was also sanctioned forprocurement of equipment and manpower for the force.
The protest control force drones will be equipped with artificialintelligence cameras, video analytics systems and advanced equipment. Theplan is to set up a protest control force was drawn up in consultation withTurkish-trained police officers.
Planning Minister Asad Umar said the force will be funded through thePublic Sector Development Program.
The prime minister directed the Interior Ministry to set up a special forceto take action against the squatters.
