ISLAMABAD: The Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) has taken finaldecision over the hike in electricity prices.
ECC on Wednesday approved increase in power tariff.
In a meeting chaired by Finance Minister Asad Umar, the ECClinkhike in power tariff which is subject to a final approval by the federalcabinet.

According to sources, a hike of Rs1.18 per unit was approved. The hikewould not apply to households with electricity usage of 300 units or less.For households with 300-700 units usage, a 10 percent increase wasapproved, while for households with usage of more than 700 units, a 15percent hike was decided.
