Due to India’s ongoing politicization of sports and their failure to issuevisas to the Pakistan squad, Pakistan had to alter their World Cup travelarrangements. As a result of the visa delay, Pakistan had to cancel theirscheduled “team-bonding trip” to Dubai.
Originally, the Green Shirts were set to depart for Dubai early next week, followed by their journey to India for their first warm-up match againstNew Zealand on September 29. However, the team has now decided to fly toDubai and then proceed to Hyderabad (India) next Wednesday.
It’s noteworthy that Pakistan is the only one among the nine teams that hasnot received their visas yet.
Concerned about this situation, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) hasnotified the International Cricket Council (ICC) about the delay. The ICCWorld Cup is still scheduled to commence on October 5.
