A big setback for PTI in offing

Nagraan Prime Minister Anwar-ul-Haq Kakar has stated that transparentelections can take place even without Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf(PTI) Imran Khan.

In an interview with an American news agency, Kakar said that transparentelections can occur without PTI Chairman Imran Khan or the involvement ofhundreds of PTI members who have been involved in illegal activities,including disrupting and rigging.

He further mentioned that many individuals within PTI who were notinvolved in illegal activities can participate in elections. He emphasizedthat the relationship between the military and the federal government issmooth, open, and transparent, and he does not pay attention to claims ofclose ties.

The Prime Minister also acknowledged the challenges posed bymilitary-civilian relations, stating that there are various reasons forchallenges in the functioning of security institutions over the years. Hefound the accusation of military interference in elections to prevent PTIfrom winning to be baseless.

Kakar expressed hope that general elections would be held in the comingyear, highlighting that it was the Chief Election Commissioner who haddecided to serve as PTI Chairman instead of Prime Minister. He questionedwhy he would be biased against the Chief Election Commissioner serving asPTI Chairman when the Election Commission will oversee the conduct ofgeneral elections, not the military.

Nagraan Prime Minister Kakar emphasized that they do not act out ofpersonal vendettas, and violations of the law by PTI Chairman or anypolitician should be dealt with through legal means.

He also mentioned that the announcement of the election date is theresponsibility of the federal government, and they will cooperate with allaspects of it. Kakar stated that they would not interfere with judicialdecisions or use courts for any political agenda.
