ISLAMABAD – Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan blamed US President DonaldTrump for derailing Afghanistan peace deal.
The historic deal was aimed at ending the longest-running war in U.S.history. Speaking at the Council on Foreign Relations in New York, Khansaid he would urge Trump to resume talks with the Taliban to pave the wayfor a cease-fire and the withdrawal of American troops from Afghanistan.
“The peace deal was just about to be signed — this is painful for us –the peace deal was about to be signed and you know President Trump,” Khansaid, trailing off.
“He should have discussed it with us.”
