In a diplomatic success for Pakistan, India gets a big snub from US Congress over Occupied Kashmir

*ISLAMABAD – **In a diplomatic success for Pakistan, India gets a big snubfrom United States Congress over Occupied Kashmir conflict.*

*The US Congress members have made a move to raise the Occupied Kashmirissue at the United Nations to defuse tensions between India and Pakistanover Occupied Kashmir.*

*US Congress reached out to US Ambassador to the United Nations Kelly Craftregarding the situation in Kashmir.*

The 35 members of the US Congress wrote a letter to Craft on Monday urgingher to diffuse tensions between India and Pakistan amid the recent activityin Indian-Administered Kashmir.

“We write out of concern with the recent activity in the Kashmir region,amid increasing tension between the nations of India and Pakistan — both ofwhom have nuclear capabilities,” the letter states.

Referring to the Indian’s actions in Kashmir, the letter reads, “In lateJuly and early August, India moved 45,000 troops into the Kashmir regionand residents’ freedom of movement and communication were suspended in thearea.”

“We encourage you to use the full weight of the US mission to the UN toencourage India and Pakistan to bilaterally mitigate tensions,” the memberswrote.
